Companions of the Longbow (Swindon) - A medieval longbow archery club whose aims are to maintain the traditions of the longbow archer of the 100 years war. The club has been in operation for the past 6 years and has 70+ members. The club aims to have as much fun as possible in a safe and controlled environment. Although not a re-enactment club, it does attend a few re-enactment events through out the year. The highlight of the club year is the annual banquet where the participants dress up in medieval kit and the banquet itself is traditional to the medieval period. Annually the club also participates in the Fete of St Louis in Crecy, to support the village and to be associated with the English victory at that famous battle in 1346.
